Just my ramblings

I guess you are all wondering where I have been? If you haven’t you should be. To be totally honest I have been having a tough time of late. There are some personal family issues which have been affecting me, changing jobs again, University and trying to run our household on the smell of an oily rag. Of course none of these are an excuse for not exercising but they have been causing me quite a bit of stress which has been making me ill. I find that during the day when I am at work I am fine and bubbly (as those of you I correspond frequently with will attest to). It is when I come home and think and deal with everything that troubles me.

My membership at the gym ends in two days and instead of going full bore and getting the rest of my moneys worth I have found myself still asleep come 7:00am rushing to get to work. In the midst of a burst of I have no idea what, I have packed my stuff to go to the pool in the morning.

I guess I am treating this like a journal entry. Down on “paper” it kind of just looks like I am being a sook. I guess I am in a way. I am sure that tomorrow being a payday with few bills will alleviate some of my angst. That’s all.

Hi Shell,
hang in there. So long as you keep exercising in some way that you enjoy, it doesn't matter what type it is. Exercise is also a fantastic way to cope with some of the stresses that life throws your way. Whether it is making good friends with the black line (or in your case resuming a friendship with the black line) or the numbers on a little screen in front of you (as in my friend the Concept 2), it's amazing how it can help the worries disappear at least for a little while.

Just keep exercising and keep eating healthily and you'll reach your goals. Remember you made the changes for the rest of you life, so try not to slip back into old ways.

Like FGM says hang in there, in months to come, you will look back at this time, and wonder why you were worried about issues affecting you now. Exercise is a great way to handle stress. I remember my nephew some years ago, going through divorce and he decided to run at lunchtimes to cope; well not only did he get fit, he found a new interest (he now does triathlons) and he destressed, as an added bonus.
I feel things are about to change for you, in many ways. The new year will bring new and exciting things your way. BTW do you keep a excercise/food diary? You have probably said before, but I can't remember.
