I am a Mum!

Phew so it has been a crazy couple of weeks! So much has happened in such a short amount of time. It still feels surreal. I went to my routine OB appointment (11th July) and she took my blood pressure which was extremely high. It had always been quite low in the past so she was concerned. Did a urine sample, had heaps of protein in it, she made a few phone calls, then told me to go straight to hospital as they were expecting em and that I would be admitted straight away.

Nice.

So still there Monday OB does some tests decides they should try to induce cause my stats weren’t getting any better. Induction Gel doesn’t work, the have another go on Tuesday morning. Tuesday evening my husband brings me in Subway, I eat shite loads of onion, they put a monitor on the baby at 8:30pm, OB comes to visit while it is on, is not happy with the results – emergency c section, baby wasn’t coping so well…

Baby is delivered by 9:15pm, I am a Mum, and the rest is history……….So I thought.

Bub was taken to the Intensive Care nursery cause of my gestational diabetes, he stayed there til I brought him home yesterday. He is well but it sucked being away from him.. Didn’t get to touch him when he was born until the next day.

As for me, well you know, so far so good. Not much pain, am up and about back to being bossy and a princess. Piece of cake this delivery thing. My wound is looking great and I really think that my recovery has been ok because he was in the nursery and it made me get out of bed everyday to go upstairs in the hospital to see him…I couldn’t just lay around, I had my baby to go and see.

Did have some dramas in the hospital re breast feeding and a few other things but now that I am home it seems like it was years ago! Pooks is doing a great job and it is amazing how natural everything seems to be coming to us.

Anyway best head off. There is a lovely quietness in my house. I am sure it wont last long. :)
